If we have planned to do a water lesson we would likely reschedule for a day with better conditions, and better wind. For a land lesson wind may not necessarily be required and we would proceed anyway.
Before showing up to our lessons you should have some experience with a trainer kite to expedite the learning process. Each lesson is 2-3 hours typically, and it take 2-5 lessons to become independent.
I define an independent rider as someone who can now go off on their own and continue their kiteboarding learning progression in a safe manor.
I hear kite-mares from students all the time of them getting all the gear, and setting up on a windy day, and trying to ride on their own. It always goes wrong.
To go about that route properly you need three thing: A small trainer kite, open space, and some wind. 🙂
Covers how to kiteboard!

We recommend our students be of at least 10 years of age before taking lessons, if your able to swim in open water confidently with a buoyancy aid your not too old to try kiteboarding!
Unlike wakeboarding, you have a harness to take care of all of the effort for you at any moment you like, I normally ride for 2 and a bit hours at a time but sometimes it's a full 4 hour party. You can expect our session to be about 3 hours of combined in/out of the water, this will cover all(or more) of the material in a particular level(1-3)
You sure do! We are IKO certified, after a lesson with us you are provided with a certification card to prove your skills to other schools or businesses worldwide. This is especially handy when you would like to rent since renters will only provide gear to those certified.
Kiteboarding can be as physically exerting as walking to your neighbours house or as tiring as running up Machu Piccu, it depends how you ride. Since almost all of the kites power is transferred through your waist harness your arms will not be sore after a ride but it is rather your legs which would be feeling some burn if any after your session if you have not been on a board recently.
Kiteboarding is an independent sport, we will train you to be able to ride how you would like too.
Bring some sunscreen and sunglasses if it will be sunny. Your booties, gloves, and wetsuit if its looking chilly. Also any of your own personal kiteboarding gear if you would like to use in the lesson. We provide the rest!
